_____________
Some people would find it odd that Molly used a lab coat when in the kitchen. To be fair, she was often crucial to his experiments and it really was more practical than ruining her clothes. As a joke, John had bought her one that was light pink to be used for cooking.
Sherlock watched her now, as she carefully stirred the bright green substance over the stove, a look of intense concentration on her face. He paused his note taking, carrying on his observation of her as she lifted the pot to off the fire, stirring it's contents carefully with her spoon.
She leaned forward, sniffing the substance. The deep breath that she took was a bit concerning until she left out a satisfied sigh.
His curiousity getting the better of him, he spoke up to ask, "Is that meant for my experiment?"
"No," Molly replied, reaching for a glass bowl and carefully pouring the steaming green liquid into it. Placing the pot in the sink and wiping her hands on her lab coat, she turned to face him. "It's for mine."
Sherlock raised an eyebrow at this as she covered the bowl in cellophane. "You're running your own experiments now?"
"Yes, of course," she replied, moving towards him and placing her hands on his shoulders. Sitting on the stool put them nearly at eye level and Molly leaned over to whisper in his ear. "I rather like to experiment on you."
Sherlock dropped his notebook and pen on the counter beside his own now neglected sample to slide his hands beneath her lab coat, and pulling her closer. "Doctor Hooper, you are going to experiment on me with steaming hot green liquid?"
Molly giggled and quickly placed a kiss on his cheek, pulling away from him. He groaned at the loss of contact only to have her giggle in response. She picked up the bowl and moved to the fridge and placed the bowl inside, leaning against the closed door when she was done.
"Gelatin. It's gelatin," she said, grinning at him like she had discovered a secret element never before seen on Earth.
And right in that moment, Sherlock was sure that he loved her.
He stood up and in one stride he was looming over her, hands braced on either side of her as she lifted her face to him.
"You want to experiment on me with gelatin?" he asked slowly, nuzzling her cheek before running his lips across her jawline.
Her hands were fisted in his shirt now, pulling him closer. "Lime flavour," she answered.
"Well then, Doctor, I submit myself as a willing subject."
