Continued from this.

Sherlock signalled for the cab to stop, jumping down onto the street and tossing a silver crown to the cabbie.

"Come along then," he said, extending his hand to help Molly out of the cab.

"What's going on? I thought we were going home?" she asked even as she stepped down onto the pavement and the cab drove off.

"I thought we'd take a turn about the park first," Sherlock said, tucking her hand beneath his arm and walking them into Hyde Park.

"Dressed like this?" Molly argued, looking down at her black graduation gown.

Sherlock rolled his eyes a bit. "Obviously. That would be the point, after all."

"The point of what?" Molly asked, smiling politely at a few people that had turned their sight their way.

"Showing off, of course. It's not every day a wife of mine earns a medical degree," Sherlock replied, a proud smile on his face.

Molly couldn't help but grin back at him, squeezing his arm a bit and raising her chin high as they continued to walk along the lane, the sunlight filtering through the trees.

"So, what are your plans now, Doctor Holmes?" Sherlock asked.

"Oh you know, I was thinking of maybe settling in the country somewhere, having loads of sherry and maybe a baby or two," Molly replied with a serious look in her face.

Sherlock stopped in his tracks to give her a horrified look at which Molly laughed heartily.

"You are too easy to tease, my love," she said, bumping her shoulder with his. He made a show of glaring at her but continued to move along down the lane, now ignoring the people that would look their way.

"Well, in case you're looking for my opinion, I think that you should start with publishing your research on observations during necropsy," Sherlock went on and Molly stopped them in their tracks again.

"How did--oh nevermind, I think I know how," she said with a sigh, continuing on with their walk through the frankly gorgeous June afternoon. She bit her bottom lip. "Do you really think I should publish it?"

Sherlock nodded. "It could perhaps use some polishing up, but it's sound and well researched. And I think it might take the medical community by storm, don't you?" He smirked at her.

"Hardly, Sherlock. My fellow medics aren't exactly morons and I wouldn't be enlightening them on anything that's particularly new and radical. But, I think I will publish it," she said thoughtfully. "But perhaps as Doctor M. Hooper."

Sherlock raised an eyebrow at that.

Molly smiled at him. "Well, after publishing research regularly and I might become more personally sought after you know," she said, her teasing tone not lost on him this time. "It might be a bit harder for them to find Mrs. Holmes. Besides, if I was running off doing nothing but research, how would I possibly have time to help you on your cases?" She looked up at him a bit shyly. "Assuming, of course, that you still want my help."

"Oh, Doctor Holmes. I'm always going to be in need of an assistant."

THE END.
